Meridian Scholars

The Meridian Scholars program recognizes and supports high-achieving Nepali students who demonstrate exceptional academic merit, leadership potential, and a commitment to contributing back to Nepal. Through mentorship, networking, and development opportunities, Meridian Scholars are equipped to become the next generation of Nepal's leaders — at home and on the world stage.

Meridian Scholars are selected on the basis of outstanding academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and the drive to push the boundaries of their fields. The program celebrates students who set the standard — and challenges them to go further.

Beyond academics, Meridian Scholars are groomed as future leaders. Through curated workshops, speaker series, and peer learning, scholars develop the strategic thinking, communication, and decision-making skills needed to lead in complex environments.

Each scholar is connected with a network of accomplished professionals, alumni, and mentors who provide guidance, open doors, and help scholars navigate their path with clarity and confidence.

At the heart of the Meridian Scholars program is a shared belief: that Nepal's brightest minds, when nurtured and empowered, will choose to invest their talent back home. Scholars are encouraged to channel their growth into meaningful impact for their communities and country.

The Meridian Scholars Programme is a 10-week international youth leadership initiative for high school and gap year students, focused on cross-cultural collaboration, mentorship from members of the Oxford Diplomatic Society, and project-based learning aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Through weekly live sessions and international teamwork, participants design and pitch real-world solutions to global inequality. The programme culminates in a formal pitching round, where selected projects receive direct funding and continued mentorship for real-world implementation.
