One App, One Tap

One App, One Tap is a flagship initiative of IRD, designed to bridge the digital divide in rural Nepal by developing critical digital infrastructure, services, accessibility, and literacy.
In many rural communities, lack of access to technology prevents individuals from using essential services such as healthcare, education, agriculture advisories, emergency alerts, and even basic communication tools. This digital exclusion widens the inequality gap and leaves millions behind as Nepal progresses into a technology-driven future.
One App, One Tap envisions a future where every citizen—regardless of geography, income level, or education—can access life-changing services right from their phones. From farmers accessing weather forecasts and market rates to students engaging in digital learning, the initiative simplifies digital services into easy, tap-based applications built specifically for local needs.
This project is not just about distributing apps—it is about building an ecosystem of digital literacy, community-led adoption, and government collaboration. Through training sessions, school campaigns, and household-level outreach, IRD ensures these tools are not only accessible, but understood and embraced by the people who need them most.
By empowering citizens with the right tools and knowledge, One App, One Tap aims to create lasting social change. It addresses Nepal’s most urgent development challenges—like health care access, agricultural resilience, safety, and disaster readiness—using the power of simple, local-language, mobile technology. This initiative is a cornerstone of our mission to build a more connected, informed, and resilient Nepal.
