IRD AI Video Competition: "Hope & Youths" – Call for Submissions

The Institute for Rural Development (IRD) invites you to participate in the nationwide AI Video Competition: 'Hope & Youths'. This competition aims to spotlight stories of hope and the transformative role of youths in Nepal. At a time when negative narratives often dominate, we want to inspire a new conversation—one that highlights progress, resilience, and the positive impact of young people across the country.

• Open to all Nepali citizens, either as individuals or in groups.

"Hope & Youths: Changing the Narrative"

We are seeking videos that:

• Focus on stories of hope, resilience, and positive change led by youths in Nepal.

• Counter negative perceptions about the government and national progress by showcasing constructive actions, inspiring leaders, and community initiatives.

Videos can be submitted under different categories, such as:

• Education

• Health

• Agriculture

• Tourism

• Other relevant topics

To help you get started and sharpen your skills, IRD will host two focused guidance sessions:

• Storytelling: Learn how to craft compelling narratives.

• Using AI Tools for Video Creation: Practical tips and demonstrations.

• Video Content: The video does not have to be fully AI-generated, but greater use of AI is encouraged.

• Duration: 1–3 minutes.

• Language: Any Nepali language or dialect (English subtitles encouraged).

• Format: MP4 or MOV, minimum 720p resolution.

• Application Opens: June 27, 2025

• Submission Deadline: July 17, 2025 (11:59 PM Nepal time)

A total prize pool of NPR 50,000 will be awarded to the top three entries:

• 🥇 1st Place: NPR 25,00

• 🥈 2nd Place: NPR 15,000

• 🥉 3rd Place: NPR 10,000

• Prepare your video according to the guidelines.

• Submit your entry through the official IRD competition portal (see website for link).

• Include a brief description of your video and the AI tools used.

• Creativity and originality

• Relevance to the theme

• Positive and inspiring message

• Technical quality (audio/visual)
